Save the Flowers—Send Bacon Roses Instead

Traditionally, people give flowers to express their love. But there's another gift that some people may appreciate more than daisies or peonies: bacon. Laughing Squid recently shared a video tutorial by YouTuber DaveHax that demonstrates how to turn the breakfast staple into an edible bouquet.

The process is simple: Roll uncooked bacon into bud shapes, and secure them with toothpicks (cocktail sticks). Cook the bacon on an oven tray, leave to cool, then skewer them with spinach or some other leafy green, and you're done!

According to Chowhound, cooked bacon will keep in the refrigerator for up to six weeks, which is longer than some real roses will last in a vase. But let's be honest, it would take a whole lot of self restraint not to eat a full dozen of these in one sitting.
