This Video Attempts to Calculate How Many People the Earth Can Hold

How many humans can the Earth hold? While there’s no simple answer to that question, web series Life Noggin explored some of the most important variables in a recent episode. Considering factors like food, water, climate change, and even soil quality, the video explains why the seemingly straightforward question is actually incredibly complicated.
While there are currently approximately 7 billion people living on Earth, by the end of the century, scientists estimate that number could rise to 10 billion. Life Noggin puts those monumental numbers into perspective by explaining how each tiny little human ends up having a surprisingly massive impact on their environment. To get a better sense of the challenges humans will face over the next century, and learn some fascinating and surprising stats on food production, check out the video above.
