The Original Ghostbusters Will Return to Theaters This Summer

With the Ghostbusters reboot scheduled to hit theaters on July 15, fans have been getting reacquainted with the original film via home video and various streaming services. But soon, Sony Pictures will take everyone back to the summer of 1984. According to Entertainment Weekly, the original gang will return to theaters for two nights of special screenings, courtesy of Fathom Events.
More than 750 theaters across the country will host screenings of the film on Wednesday, June 8, the anniversary of its original premiere. There will also be encore screenings held on June 12. For fans in or near New York City, Entertainment Weekly is also reporting that BBQ Films will host "three nights of immersive screenings" in a warehouse in Brooklyn, where attendees will get to wear proton packs and become honorary members of the Ghostbusters squad while rewatching the movie.
These events will surely sell out, so brush up on your Ghostbusters facts and keep your eyes on the Fathom Events and BBQ Films Twitter accounts to snatch tickets when they are made available on May 6.
