Kyrie Irving’s New Limited-Edition Nikes Come Courtesy of Krispy Kreme

In today’s odd pairing news: Nike and Krispy Kreme have teamed up to release NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving’s new limited-edition sneakers, called the Kyrie 2 “Ky-rispy Kreme.” The shoes are inspired by the doughnut giant's famous white, red, and green logo, with Nike delivering some pairs in a specially designed doughnut box.

Nike and Krispy Kreme have also outfitted a doughnut truck with a basketball hoop on its rear, which will make its way from Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, to a few cities throughout the country. Next week, the truck will make stops in Cleveland (home of Irving’s Cavaliers), House of Hoops in Baltimore and Harlem, and the Nike Community Store in Brooklyn. A limited quantity of the new sneakers will be available for purchase onboard. (No word on whether there will be doughnuts or coffee.)
