David Byrne—Talking Heads frontman, writer, and occasional lending librarian—broke into the world of theater in 2013 with Here Lies Love, a disco musical that he wrote with Fatboy Slim about the former First Lady of the Philippines, Imelda Marcos. Now, he’s debuting a new musical about another famous woman in history: Joan of Arc. Saint Joan will premiere at New York City’s Public Theater on Valentine’s Day next year, as Pitchfork reports.

“Everyone certainly knows how it ends, which I like—it means that everything that happens will feel like an irrevocable tragic advance toward a preordained ending,” Byrne wrote of the musical on his website. “Joan's story is about the power of the individual to make a difference and (for me) the hubris and sometimes oversteps that often go along with that. In other words—it's completely relevant.”

In this rendition of Joan’s story, she’s a contemporary singer, backed by a band, who is eventually killed at the end of her concert. It’ll run from February 14 to March 19, 2017.
