There's An Official Doctor Who Cookbook Coming

by Rob Leane
If Doctor Who and Top Chef are your two favorite television shows, the BBC has just announced the perfect book for you. Doctor Who: The Official Cookbook, which will mash the culinary world together with The Doctor’s iconic adventures in time and space, will be released this summer.
Food writer Joanna Farrow is the brains behind the project, and she has come up with 40 Whovian dishes that will delight fans of both Time Lords and baked goods. Included among the recipes are an Ood Head Bread, Gingerbread TARDIS, and 12 Cookie Doctors. You could also bake an army of Dalek cupcakes, or a pie shaped like a Zygon’s head (with suckers around the edges and everything). There's even a recipe for The Doctor's beloved fish fingers and custard.
If cooking isn't exactly your strong suit, you needn’t worry. The BBC promises that “each easy-to-follow recipe has step-by-step instructions to show how you can make meals, snacks, cakes, and sweets that are truly out of this world.” So, regardless of your kitchen skills, you'll still be able to whip up some tasty, timey-wimey treats.
Doctor Who: The Official Cookbook will be released by Random House on August 30, 2016, but you can pre-order your copy today. And if you need more ideas for gifts for Doctor Who fanatics, check out our gift guide.
