It’s not quite as out-there as Beard Beer, but the folks at New Belgium Brewing are cooking up a new brew with an unusual addition: ice cream. For the second year in a row, the Colorado-based brewery is working with Ben & Jerry’s, this time to create what they call a “deliciously decadent” Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale.

They haven’t released much in the way of description of the melt-in-your-mouth brew, but hopefully we’ll know more about it before it debuts this fall. New Belgium has promised that $50,000 of the profits from its sales will go to Protect Our Winters, an advocacy group devoted to climate change awareness.

This isn't the first time New Belgium and Ben & Jerry's have worked together on a dessert-inspired beer. Last year, the brewers teamed up with the Vermont dessert masters to release Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale. (Reviewers gave it decent ratings.)

Obviously, you should be drinking an ice-cream-flavored ale with some frozen dessert. For even more fun, you might pair it with Winecream, the alcoholic ice cream.
