Toronto Is Getting a Poop-Themed Dessert Bar

What's more appetizing than poop? Literally everything, but that's not stopping Toronto resident Lien Nguyen from opening a poop-themed cafe this summer, complete with excrement-related desserts and hand-drawn murals. According to Eater, the concept is not a new one; there are several fecal-focused restaurants around the world, but this might be the first to open its doors in Canada.
In an interview with the Toronto Star, Nguyen said that she got the idea when she visited her mother in Taiwan and experienced a toilet-themed restaurant for the first time. "I'm trying to make poop cute," she told the paper. The menu at Poop Café Dessert Bar will be inspired by Asian desserts and will include pudding, a Korean shaved ice dish called patbingsoo, and other brown treats served in toilet-shaped dishes. The Facebook page for the eatery includes renovation photos, with poop emojis and other on-theme images painted on the walls. The plan is to open mid-August and the owner has stated in online comments that the hours will be 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., which means morning people will have to contain their excitement until midday.
