Meet America’s Underwater Hockey Team
By Anna Green

We’ve all heard of ice hockey and street hockey, but did you know there’s also underwater hockey? The underground—or rather, underwater—sport might not be making much of a splash in the mainstream media, but its players take it very seriously. Played with sticks, a puck, and two goals, underwater hockey looks a lot like ice hockey, though its players have traded ice skates for flippers.
In the video above, Great Big Story interviews Tyera Eulberg, captain of the United States’s underwater hockey team. Eulberg and her team don’t have any fancy sponsorships or make any money from the sport, but they play at an international level, traveling the world to attend competitions, just for the love of the game. "My mom thought I was crazy when I told her I was into underwater hockey," Eulberg says in the video. "But she’s also my biggest fan when I’m at the world championships."
