Artist Designs LEGO Models That Create Shadow Designs When They Spin

Artist John V. Muntean experiments with sculptures that play with light and shadow. At first glance, his art pieces often look like bulky distorted shapes, but they come to life when you illuminate them. The abstract blocks are often on an axle; as it spins, it produces different shadow figures—the true center of his art.

His latest works were made with thousands of bricks. Each LEGO creation shows three different shadow designs. The first yields a dragon, butterfly, and an airplane. The second has a knight, mermaid, and pirate ship. Watch his videos below to see the art come to life.
