Riddles, Charades, and Conundrums was an 1822 collection of puzzles compiled by the English scholar and antiquarian John Winter Jones, a founder librarian of the British Museum. The riddles in Jones’s collection were mainly poems—though given his scholarly background, many of those in the book were written in Latin.
