It’s no surprise that 1979’s The Amityville Horror is set in Amityville, New York, and 1974’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is set in Texas.

Other horror movies are slightly less transparent about where all the horror takes place. In fact, many of them use places you won’t find on a map. It’s a genre trend to set your story in a fictional town (or some other fictional location) in a real state.

This quiz puts your knowledge of those infamous fake places to the test. The rules are simple: We give you the name of a fictional location, and you select which horror film is set there from three multiple-choice options.

Good luck!
