Many movies are set in fictional towns. It doesn’t matter if they’re horror movies, comedies, or something in between. Despite how common this is, do you think you’re a big enough film buff to remember some of these locations? Can you name the movie with only the fictional town name? That’s the quiz we have for you today!

Did you manage to get all eight questions right? We’re impressed if you did! Share the quiz with your friends so you can all chat about the classics and the towns that you would love to visit if only they were real.

The Fictional Towns People Would Love to Visit

When it comes to the classic movies, there’s one in particular that movie fans would love to visit. It’s all about Bedford Falls, the town name in It’s a Wonderful Life. It became that quintessential town that showcased 1940s America, while Pottersville, the town it became known as in the George Bailey-less world, was the exact opposite. Bedford Falls was inspired by the real-life Seneca Falls, New York.

Another one that will always come to mind is Hill Valley from Back to the Future. Of course, this is more to see if we can spot a DeLorean that can take us through time, but there’s something inherently 1950s American about the town. Even in the period set in the 1980s and the 2010s, this whole town felt like it came out of the 1950s, and we fell in love with it.

Even the towns in horror movies have elements that people would love to visit. Let’s just look at Jaws’ Amity Island—did you get it confused with The Amityville Horror? This island is filled with summer boardwalks and sandy beaches. What isn’t there to love, even if it’s just to relax on summer vacation? Sure, we can do without the shark, but there’s no doubt that we’d love a seaside town just like it.

Sometimes, we just want to live a dream. The Truman Show brought us the town of Seahaven, which we would learn with Truman that it was all make-believe. That’s why it’s so popular now, though. We want to escape the life we’re living, and sometimes it just feels like we’re stuck in a show with no way out, and maybe we just want to scratch at the backdrop to get away.
