Out of all the decades of Disney, the 1960s might not be the most memorable. Sure, we got a handful of now-classics like Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book, but compared to other eras, these years were a bit quieter. However, that doesn’t mean the quality of movies wasn’t great. If you’re a true Disney expert, you’ll know all the decades. Test your knowledge on the ‘60s with our quiz below:
Were you able to name all 10 movies? The animated titles might be a bit more familiar, but have you seen all of the live-action ones mentioned in the quiz, too? If you got a perfect score, you can definitely call yourself an expert in 1960s Disney movies.

Remaking the Classic Films
As we go back and look at earlier decades of Disney, you’ll likely notice there are multiple films that have since been remade. In the 1960s specifically, movies such as The Parent Trap, Babes in Toyland, and That Darn Cat! have seen more recent iterations, while animated classics like The Jungle Book and One Hundred and One Dalmatians have gotten the live-action remake treatment.
Sometimes, the remake ends up becoming more memorable than the original. That can certainly be argued for The Parent Trap, which was remade in 1998 with Lindsay Lohan starring as twins Hallie and Annie. The movie, which features several callbacks to the original 1961 version, was a success at the box office and with critics.
Just this year, The Hollywood Reporter included 1998’s The Parent Trap in their roundup of remakes that are better than the original, alongside the likes of Scarface (1983), The Fly (1986), and A Star Is Born (2018).
Thanks to talented director Nancy Meyers—marking her feature directorial debut—and the stellar cast, which also included Natasha Richardson, Dennis Quaid, Lisa Ann Walter, and Elaine Hendrix, The Parent Trap is one of the best family movies of all time. And while both films are actually based on the German children’s book Lisa and Lottie (1949), the remake likely would not have been possible without the 1961 version.
