Conundrums New and Old was an anonymous collection of short puzzles and riddles published in the U.S. in 1875. Like a lot riddle books from that time, many of the puzzles in this collection were punning back-and-forths rather than straightforward lateral-thinking games (a “lame dog” is like a mountainside because it is a “slow pup,” apparently).
