25 Fictional Characters Posing With mental_floss

You've already seen celebrities posing with Mental Floss at the Motor City Comic Con, but have you ever wondered whether your favorite fictional characters would enjoy the magazine? Thanks to the San Diego Comic Con, we were able to find out that, whether given to real celebrities or fictional icons, Mental Floss is always a big hit.

1 & 2: Velma and Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman was interested in the magazine, but Velma immediately recognized that it was right up her alley. We tried to ask Scooby and Shaggy what they thought, but the magazine ended up getting stacked in one of their crazy sandwiches and eaten.

3: The Tenth Doctor

It's widely known that each incarnation of the Doctor has a distinct personality, which is why I was so happy to see that my favorite Doctor, good old #10, found the history articles in the magazine to be downright fascinating.

4 & 5: The Fourth Doctor and River Song

On the other hand, my second favorite Doctor, number four, was too spaced out to really get into the articles. On the other hand, River Song said that reading mental_floss was even more enjoyable than catching up on her journal.

6 & 7: The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond

While Amy tried to jump right in to reading the magazine, the current Doctor (number eleven) was a bit suspicious that it might be an evil Dalek trick, so he insisted on scanning it first.

8: Dark Helmet

Dark here was really enjoying the goofy writing style and fascinating trivia facts -- that is, until his face shield fell down and knocked the magazine from his hands.

9, 10 and 11: Klingons

These Klingons were the first characters that were displeased with the magazine. They said they could see how it would interest humans, but thought it lacked enough stories about epic and bloody battles to be worth their time.

12: Lando Calrissian

Lando really liked the magazine, especially this issue's theme of Perfection. He did mumble something about being happy about not being labeled a perfect traitor.

13: Boba Fett

Boba told me that a lot of bounty hunting involves sitting around, waiting for the right moment to go after your target. He said that mental_floss was the perfect reading material to pass the time while waiting to complete his contracts.

14: Stormtrooper

This storm trooper was equally thrilled with the magazine. He told me that ever since the second death star was destroyed, his internet has been down and he was really bummed he couldn't read mental_floss online anymore.

15: Imperial Army Pilot

This chap told me he always keeps a copy of the Floss in his shuttle since it takes forever for his team to actually check out the craft before his takeoff.

16: Marty McFly

Marty couldn't believe his eyes when he caught a glimpse of mental_floss. He said it was the perfect magazine and desperately wished he could take it back to 1985 with him, but after his last attempt at bringing something back to the past with him resulted in his mother marrying Biff, he didn't want to risk it.

17: Jack Sparrow

Jack told me that he might not drink so much rum on his journeys if he had something this entertaining to pass the time with instead.

18: Batman

The Dark Knight said he might be interested in reading the magazine, but since he didn't have a spot for it on his utility belt, he'd have to pass for now.

19 & 20: Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn

That might have been a bad call on Batman's part, considering that Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn were both very into mental_floss and hoped that it might help them create a brilliant plan to take down the bat once and for all.

21 & 22: The Black Canary and Catwoman

Well, at least the Black Canary had time to read it, so maybe she'll have to step in and stop whatever Ivy and Harley have planned. As for Catwoman, she said she's more of a Cosmo fan since she likes to use their advice on attracting a man to play with the emotions of one particular man who also happens to dress like a bat.

23: Hawkman

Hawkman said he really dug the magazine, but worried that if he brought it home Hawkgirl might start building a nest out of it. He said she's been bothering him about making hatchlings for years now.

24: Loki

Loki was proud to get a hold of the magazine -- but only if we promised not to give one to her brother, Thor.

25. Deadmau5

Okay, so technically, Deadmau5 is real, but he wasn't really at Comic Con -- or if he was, he didn't tell anyone that he was the real thing and not just a fan in a mask. Even so, this Deadmau5 certainly seemed to enjoy mental_floss. And who knows? Maybe the real one does too.

Can't get enough pictures of Comic Con costumes? Well, I've got plenty more over on my website, Rue the Day. I'm even running a contest for those who can help me identify a few of the unknown costumes. If you're just interested in seeing some of the other sights around the convention, I've got you covered there too.
