The Most Popular HBO Comedies In Each State

While HBO has a reputation for prestige drama series, its library of comedies is equally impressive. Shows like Veep, Entourage, Ballers, and Curb Your Enthusiasm have kept subscribers entertained for decades. Thanks to their streaming platforms like HBO GO and HBO Now—both of which will soon be rebranded as simply HBO—plus HBO Max, it's easy to catch up on your favorite shows.

Recently, online retailer OnBuy used data from Google Ads to try to find out which HBO shows were the most popular in each state. Here’s what they discovered:

As you can see, Curb Your Enthusiasm has proven to be the presiding hit in nearly one-third of states. But equally popular is Run, a new series about a former couple who reunite and abandon their lives to find themselves while traveling. Silicon Valley, which wrapped up its six-season run in December, is also grabbing viewers.

Insecure, Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore's critically acclaimed dramedy, which is currently nearing the end of its fourth season, is the favorite show in four states. Surprisingly, the critically-acclaimed Barry, starring Bill Hader as a hitman, took the top spot in only one state—Louisiana. The same holds true for Enlightened, which is favored by the state of Hawaii.
