If you weren’t lucky enough to be born into royalty, a new job opening at Buckingham Palace is offering the next best thing: a stay worthy of royalty. The new kitchen porter will be given lodging on the premises and a salary of £17,000 or roughly $22,100 a year, The Telegraph reports.
In addition to washing the royal dishes, job requirements include “assisting with food preparation” and “ensuring our chefs and assistants have all they need to deliver hundreds of staff meals every day.” The full-time position comes with 33 vacation days a year and a pension plan. As part of living on the palace grounds, all meals will be included as well.
No prior experience is required, but the job description does state they’re looking for someone who’s “a natural team player, happy to get involved, use initiative, and work with your colleagues to achieve a smooth daily service.” And in case seeing the inside of Buckingham Palace every day isn’t enough of a draw, the kitchen porter may also be asked to travel with the Queen to Balmoral Castle and Windsor Castle.
The application is open until July 20, and job-seekers can submit their resumes through Buckingham Palace’s website. If you happen to miss this opportunity, don’t dismay—listings looking for everything from housekeeping to social media skills have been known to pop up on the royal jobs page.
