Watch Samuel L. Jackson's Guide to Game of Thrones

If you don't know anything about Game of Thrones, it’s not too late to learn. To help newcomers catch up on the popular fantasy show, HBO has enlisted the help of Samuel L. Jackson to give a mostly spoiler-free overview of the first five seasons of the series. The so-called “Beginner’s Guide” (which, be forewarned, features some adult language and content) is an introduction to the show, as well as a refresher for anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed by the series' many twists and turns.

Though Jackson doesn’t actually play a character on the show (at least, he doesn’t yet), he’s the perfect guide through five seasons of madness, mayhem, and dragons. While the show itself can get dark, Jackson lightens things up with a bit of humor during this whirlwind tour of the seven kingdoms and their inhabitants. The video is designed to let newcomers watch the latest season without spending weeks catching up, and impressively packs hours of content into just seven minutes.

“The video dispels misconceptions, highlights key characters and details main story lines so TV fans can finally see what all the fuss is about,” an HBO spokesman told TIME. Check it out above.
