Mindy Kaling Says Kelly Would Have Killed Ryan If The Office Continued

It’s not uncommon for the average Netflix user to spend an hour scrolling through the streaming service's library of movies and TV shows, looking for something new to watch, only to end up binge-watching The Office for the hundredth time. No matter who your favorite character is, you’ve got to admit that many of them are people you hate to love. This definitely goes for Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howard, Dunder Mifflin's most volatile on-again, off-again couple. So it's hardly surprising that both Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak, the actors who portrayed the couple, are still asked about their characters to this day.

While speaking to Variety, Kaling was asked about the rumors of a reboot of the series, and she admitted that she doesn’t really know how involved Ryan and Kelly would be if it did happen. When asked if she’d be interested in revisiting The Office, Kaling played it coy, responding, "I think that anything that [Greg Daniels] decided to do I would watch and love and want to help him with." But she did offer a bit of a funny prediction, stating:

“There's not an insignificant part of me that thinks that Kelly might be in jail. Crime of passion? The character just kept getting a little bit more and more unhinged. I don't wanna say that she murdered Ryan, but, like, I'm not convinced that he's still alive in the world of The Office.”

For fans of the series, that is actually not too hard to believe.

The status of a possible reboot of The Office has been up in the air for months, but at least we know we can always rewatch the beloved series on Netflix (at least for now).
