James Chapman

James Chapman is an illustrator living in Manchester, England. Focusing mostly on language-related projects, he loves the way different parts of the world can look at the exact same thing, a subject covered in his previous books on international onomatopoeia, Soundimals: An Illustrated Guide to Animal Sounds in Other Languages and How to Sneeze in Japanese (available on Etsy). He currently works as a background artist for an upcoming animated series at Brown Bag Films, holds a Ph.D. in physics, and was once voted off the TV show the Weakest Link despite not actually being the weakest link in that particular round (a betrayal that still haunts him to this day).
