For some people, the holiday season is all about the food. For others, gift-giving (and receiving) takes center stage. And then there are those who spend every spare moment in front of the TV, binge-watching Christmas movies like it’s their job.
If you fall into that last category (and are a U.S. resident who’s at least 18 years old), you have the chance to actually make it your job this year. Reviews.org is looking for a Chief Holiday Cheermeister to view 25 holiday movies in 25 days. The gig comes with a $2500 paycheck—$100 per movie—and a free year’s subscription to all of these streaming services: Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and Hallmark Movies Now.
All you have to do is watch the movies and complete a short survey after each one, documenting how much you did or didn’t enjoy it. As for your watch list, it’s completely up to you. Stick to It’s a Wonderful Life (1946), White Christmas (1954), and other old classics; focus on new Netflix Originals; or curate an eclectic mix of old and new, featuring childhood favorites like Home Alone (1990), family-friendly comedies like Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and Elf (2003), and heartwarming rom-coms like Love Actually (2003). New Year’s movies are fair game, too, so feel free to add When Harry Met Sally... (1989) to the line-up.
You have until December 3 to submit an application, which entails filling out a few personal details and explaining in 200 words or fewer why you’d make the perfect Chief Holiday Cheermeister. Reviews.org will announce the winner live on YouTube on December 10 at 2 p.m. EST. If you can’t tune in, don’t worry—the winner will also be notified by email.
