Jamie Spatola is a 2004 graduate of Duke University, where she majored in English and minored in Linguistics. She subsequently earned an M.B.A. from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and an M.A. in Liberal Studies back at Duke. The tale her random experiences in higher education also serves as a tale of two cities, illustrating that she has lived in exactly two places in her life: Durham, North Carolina, where she was born and raised and Lawton, Oklahoma where she lived for three years while her husband served there and overseas in the United States Army. Mirroring her random education is her random career. Since 2003, she has at been an executive assistant to the university president at Cameron University, a high-school English teacher, a co-author of two books, and the administrator of the Duke Men’s Basketball camp (an illustrious position she holds to this day). Physically, she is currently back in Durham, NC where she lives with her husband, son, and daughter (forthcoming). Mentally, she is in a good place.
