Now that we know there’s a whole legion of _floss readers who grew up reading The Baby-sitters Club, we thought it was time to discuss the best part of the books: Claudia’s funky—and frequently frightening—fashions. But today’s non-fiction fashionistas could give Claud a run for her money. Can you distinguish between the Claudia Kishi creations and descriptions of outfits worn by celebrities?
Take the Quiz: Kishi Creation or Fashionista Flop?
50%…that was hard!
Thank you for including pictures of people actually wearing them!

63%…and I could have sworn that Claud had a red ringleader-type jacket. Also, the word “flounce” totally gave one of those away :D

Er, I read your intro paragraph and I am 100% confident I will not get a single thing right other than those pure chance allows me.
However, I decided to comment after seeing your tweet: “What weird caveman instinct is it that makes boys yell at girls who are running?”
And the answer is:
The instinctual fear that she is getting away
It’s like when you see a line and are compelled to get in so that you don’t miss anything good. A woman running by is like something you might want…you don’t know…but you don’t want it just up and running off.
But what the hell do I know?

A totally dibbly-fresh quiz! The sweater with the candy bars threw me, but I figured Claudia’s parents would have never let her wear it.

I read those books so many times that I swear I remember the verbage of some of those quotes! I loved the Babysitters’ Club!

Random Esquire, that’s an interesting theory. And much better than anything I could come up with, which was something pretty basic like, “They’re boorish morons.” :)

Thennnkew. I’m pretty decent with the pig-headed, ape-like stuff.

Very sneaky with the inclusion of “dibble” in a fashionista description!
Interesting reCaptcha: majored Johanna. My name is Johanna…what are the odds?

75% or 12/16
I think I read every BSC written. The “snake skin bracelet” and Claudia’s signature “feather earrings” gave a few of those away!
Now I want to re-read the series!
~sigh of reminiscence~

FRUPPI!! Your comment has been driving me nuts, and I finally figured it out! You’re absolutely right about the ring leader jacket! She wore it to her circus themed birthday party in elementary school that nobody went to! It’s in her Autobiography.
Fruppi’s a champ.

For me, any description with ‘turtle-neck’ or ‘barettes’ were a dead giveaway.
If you’d also mentioned anything about high-top sneakers with the tongues rolled down it would have been a certain Kishi creation.
Loved this quiz!

88%! I read those books obsessively. I’d be surprised if i didn’t get them right.

88%, and I’ve never read the books! The ever-so-slight difference in writing styles helped.

81% Pretty impressive. I recognized some by the Claudia details, but I totally remembered the Katy Perry outfit, having seen it on GoFugYourself
